Internet tv?

Dear yahoo answers

I have HDMI hook up ports on my plasma tv can I hdmi from my pc with internet tv? and will I need a special video card in my harddrive tower

Yes you can.
You may need to get a new video card - to connect to an HDMI input you will need either an HDMI or a DVI output on the PC. (DVI and HDMI carry the same video signal so you can put a converter on one end of the cable).

You may need to do some tweaking of the display settings on your PC, for Macintosh there are a couple of free programs that do this - I'm sure there are tons for PC.

Bear in mind that plasma displays can be susceptible to BURN-IN. (Did you ever see an old pacman video screen where the image was still visable after the unit was unplugged?!) Make sure that you set your screen saver to trigger quickly, and move the icons around your desktop once in a while!
